Wijnhuis: Domaine de Bellene, Beaune, Bourgogne
Bellene is een verbastering van Bellenum: de historische naam van de hoofdstad van de Bourgogne; Beaune. Het domaine is opgericht in 2005 door Nicolas Potel, zoon van de legendarische Gérard Potel van Domaine de la Pousse d’Or in Volnay.
Er is sinds die tijd heel veel geïnvesteerd in hoogwaardig wijnmakersapparatuur zoals temperatuur-gecontroleerde rvs-tanks, vibrerende sorteertafels, pneumatische persen, etc. etc.
In totaal heeft het Domein 24-ha. wijngaard in Santenay, Saint Romain, Meursault, Volnay, Beaune, Côtes de Nuits Villages, Nuits Saint Georges en Vosne Romanee. Alle wijnen zijn volgens Biologische standaard gemaakt (lutte raisonnée), niet altijd gecertificeerd, maar wel met volledig respect voor de natuur.
Wijn: Savigny-les-Beaune blanc 2018
There are four plots for this cuvee: The first plot is situated in Les Planchots (12 ares). It was planted in 1960, on a deep and rather gravelly soil. A selection of the most robust vineplants has been made following an organic culture since the purchase of the vine in 2005. The second plot, Aux Champs Pruniers, was purchased in 2006 and farmed with chemical products (hence weeding). It gave us, like for the reds, a good estimation of the quality of organic work. Resulting from a massal selection, the vine was planted in 1930 and reacts very well to ploughing and the few treatments. The third plot, Les Dessus de Vermots, was purchased in 2006 and is situated in the Valley of Savigny. This young vine was planted in 1985. South-faced on the hillside, it will probably provide great results in the coming years. The fourth plot covers about 60 ares and is situated in the climate les Pimentiers. This plot was planted in 2010 and produces only the Chardonnay grape variety. We harvested these four plots on September 8th. The grapes were gently pressed for a long time, then settled for 2 days and finally musts were barreled by gravity. The wine is aged in 30% new oak barrels of different volumes: 600 and 450 litres.
